Late 19th century, about 1890. Professional appraisal of age and value. These marriaged chairs have hand-carved backs and they are an amalgam of 18th century Queen Anne style, Sheraton/Hepplewhite, Victorian Eastlake and Arts and Crafts period. They are considered 'vernacular' meaning made by a capable country wood craftsman and furniture builder. The front legs are a replacement from a Victorian parlour chair from about 1875 - 1880 salvaged by the original craftsperson. Original condition, including upholstery. Pick up only from Mt Warren Park, Brisbane.
